Week 12 Trends
It's not difficult to see: We're targeting the Falcons - the league's worst defense - this week. Keep in mind, since it's a Thursday Night Football game, we will update these lineups after the game is over, removing players from that contest. For now, Drew Brees and company are solid plays this week.
Outside of those Saints, Jamaal Charles is our favorite Week 12 running back play, facing our strength of schedule adjusted worst rush defense in the league, San Diego. In fact, we're pretty confident that the Chiefs offense can get things going a bit this week, throwing Alex Smith and Donnie Avery in a couple of lineups, too. Smith should produce enough fantasy points given his cost, and Avery is a bottom-of-the-barrel player with decent upside that allows you to build the rest of your team with studs.
Though Antonio Brown may see a lot of Joe Haden against Cleveland, he's still going to see a high number of targets. He's yet to score fewer than 8.3 half-point PPR points this week, and as we saw last week, he has as high of a ceiling as any receiver in the league. Brown is listed in a lot of our lineups.
Though many may be surprised that the Jets defense makes three lineups, recognize that the unit hasn't been that bad this year. They rank as our 14th-best adjusted defensive unit in 2013, and their opponent, Baltimore, comes in with the 25th-best offense. Joe Flacco isn't immune to turning the ball over, and as long as the Jets limit turnovers offensively themselves, the defense should be fine given their cost.
