Ranking the NFL's Quarterback Situations Entering the 2016 Season

With excitement surrounding the start of the NFL season, it only seemed right to spend countless hours putting together a ranking of each team’s quarterback situation heading into the 2016 season.

Right? I mean, everyone loves rankings.

But at numberFire, we try to avoid subjective analysis, instead focusing our attention on things we can quantify. That can be tricky with the quarterback position, where so much attention is focused on intangibles like leadership or being “clutch".

These rankings will focus heavily on the efficiency-based numbers of each quarterback, rather than their volume-based totals. Red zone efficiency will also be an important factor, as the most-important job of the quarterback is to take care of the ball. Another important stat used was our in-house Net Expected Points (NEP) metric, which you can read more about in our glossary.

So, here's a look at each team’s quarterback situation, ranked based on their outlook for the 2016 season.
