Most of what happened in the 2007 season will be lost to history, grossly overshadowed by the 17-1 Patriots, and the biggest Super Bowl upset of all time by the New York Giants.

The Colts had a great season though, finishing with an impressive 13-3 record, tied for the second-best in the NFL, though they went on to lose in the Divisional Round of the playoffs to the San Diego Chargers.

At the helm for Indianapolis was Peyton Manning, who, by his lofty standards, didn't even have much of a standout year, throwing for 4,040 yards and 31 touchdowns. Despite this, his 160.11 Passing NEP and 0.30 Passing NEP Per drop back both ranked second in the NFL.

This passing attack facilitated the best year of Reggie Wayne's career, as he caught 104 passes for a league-leading and career-high 1,510 yards with 10 touchdowns. He also ranked fifth in the league with a 120.50 Reception NEP.

In what was a bit of a rarity for Manning-lead offenses, the 2007 Colts also boasted a terrific rushing attack, ranking fourth in the NFL with a schedule-adjusted 0.06 Rushing NEP per play.

Among the 49 running backs with at least 100 carries, Colts' backs had two of the 10 best Rushing NEP per carry scores, with Joseph Addai's 0.08 ranking eighth and Kenton Keith's 0.12 ranking fourth.

The Colts may not have been the NFL's best offense in 2007, but that shouldn't overshadow just how exceptional they were, both through the air and on the ground.
