The 10 Best NFL Free Agency Signings

Free agency can make -- or break -- a franchise. Which moves won the market so far in 2016?

Assembling a good team is an art.

Every member of that team has to be seen functionally as a piece of that team; if they don’t fit together properly, it won’t work. That said, each member of the team is an individual themselves and not just a puzzle piece; they have free will and need to have their hopes, desires, and so on fulfilled.

That’s why, when Ted Thompson finally retires, I want to see Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D. as the Green Bay Packers’ next general manager.

Yes, if you’ve been watching Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., you know that Agent Coulson is a bit of a loose cannon these days, what with having been stabbed in the heart by an alien scepter in the hands of a Norse god. But it seems like he has a good eye for talent and a willingness to make bold moves when necessary (take notes, Ted).

I bring this up right now because the hullabaloo of early NFL free agency is finally winding down, and there have been some crafty moves made by NFL teams in search of the missing puzzle pieces to their teams’ success. Some budding stars have finally been given a chance to shine, some veterans have been given a chance for late-career redemption.

But which signings of this free agency period will prove to be the smartest additions to NFL teams?
