This was mostly a lost season for the Dallas Cowboys, as injuries to Tony Romo and Dez Bryant in the first two weeks resulted in an offense without much firepower. The only quarterback with fewer Passing NEP than fill-in Matt Cassel was Nick Foles, and the Cowboys also tried Brandon Weeden and Kellen Moore at quarterback.

Bryant and Jason Witten underwhelmed, and the Cowboys’ best receiver was arguably Terrance Williams, whose 14th-place Reception NEP per target finish was better than those of T.Y. Hilton, Brandin Cooks, and Martavis Bryant, three notable deep threats.

The Joseph Randle era seems so long ago, but it only ended in Week 7. Aside from his three-touchdown game against the Falcons, he was otherwise pedestrian as the starter. After the team moved on from Randle, Darren McFadden stepped in and didn’t miss a beat, with a top-20 finish in Rushing NEP per play. Possibly more remarkable was his ability to stay on the field for an entire season.
