Which players on your league's waiver can help keep your team's season alive?

Tim Hightower, RB, New Orleans Saints

With Mark Ingram placed on injured reserve with a torn rotator cuff, Tim Hightower was named the heir apparent to Ingram's early down role. And in his first week as the Saints lead back, Hightower made the most of the opportunity, racking up 85 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries against the Bucs' 10th-ranked run defense according to our metrics and tacking on a catch for another 10 yards.

While Hightower's 0.01 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per carry is nothing to write home about, he demonstrated that he has a knack for moving the chains on the ground and producing when given a sufficient workload. This along with the fact that Hightower faces a decent schedule the final weeks of the season -- the Saints host the Lions' and Jaguars' 18th- and 17th-ranked run defenses at home before traveling to Atlanta to take on the Falcons' 15th-ranked run defense in the season finale -- makes him a nice waiver wire add this week.

If you're in need of a running back, or just as important, if one of your potential opponents are looking to fill that position, Hightower should be at the top of your list of waiver claims this week.
