Cam Newton's been on fire for most of the season, and yet again he graces this column as a stud you should target in Week 13. Newton and the Panthers draw a juicy matchup against the division-rival Saints, who, through Week 12, are giving up an average of 24 fantasy points to the quarterback position, a full 4 points more than the Jaguars who are the second-worst team per this statistic.

You don't really need me to tell you about Newton's upside, and he's always a consideration in GPP formats. But this season, Newton's become one of the more reliable-floor quarterbacks in the NFL, based largely on the fact that the Panthers have let Ace Boogie take flight with his feet an average of 8.2 times per game at an average of 36 yards per game. That along with his seven rushing touchdowns, more than starting running back Jonathan Stewart, gives Newton owners security that he is very likely to meet value in cash games.

But Newton's also improved significantly this season through the air, amassing a 20:9 touchdown to interception ratio and registering a (thus far) career-best 0.16 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back. His improved efficiency coupled with the fact that 27 of the Panthers' 32 offensive touchdowns have come via his arm or his legs should make up for any scare about the 7-point spread in the Panthers' favor disrupting favorable gameflow for Newton's fantasy production. As such, get him in your lineups this weekend, and don't look back.
