10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets Heading Into Week 13
Which players on your waiver wire can help on your playoff push this year?

David Johnson, RB, Arizona Cardinals

With a skill set similar to that of talented but oft-injured teammate Andre Ellington -- but with significantly more size -- David Johnson made sense as the running back to own in the Arizona Cardinals backfield entering the year.

Even though David Johnson had fallen behind Chris Johnson and Ellington in the pecking order, he has done nothing to dissuade the early-season optimism. Indeed, Johnson has been extremely productive in his limited touches over his rookie year, with his 7 total touchdowns resulting in a stellar 0.14 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per attempt and 0.87 Reception NEP per target.

And now, with both Chris Johnson and Ellington suffering injuries on back-to-back drives in Week 12 against San Francisco, David Johnson may finally get to showcase what he can do as a workhorse back in a Cardinals offense that ranked as the most efficient unit in the league going into Week 12, according to our NEP metrics.

If Chris Johnson and Ellington are forced to miss significant time with their injuries, given his success so far this year and the fact that he gets to face Philadelphia's 23rd-ranked run defense in Week 15 and Green Bay's 25th-ranked run defense in Week 16, Johnson could be the one late-season waiver wire pick up that propels your team to a fantasy title this year.
