Having "Wally Pipped" John Brown for the number-two wide receiver job on the Cardinals offense, many wondered if Michael Floyd truly deserved the role.

On Sunday against the Seahawks' fifth-ranked passing defense according to our metrics, Floyd did his best to show everyone that the answer should be a resounding "yes."

Floyd caught 7 of 9 targets for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns (both in the first half), to help lead the team to victory in a tough divisional matchup.

This continues a stellar month of play for the young Cardinals wideout. Going into Week 10, over the past three weeks Floyd had turned 20 targets into 12 receptions for 215 yards and had caught a touchdown in each of those last three games, resulting in an impressive 1.14 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target over this timespan. And with his 12.84 Reception NEP accrued in this last contest, that number is only going to go up.

For those unfamiliar, NEP is our signature metric here at numberFire. If you contribute to your team's chances of scoring above expectation you receive a positive NEP, and a negative score when you do the opposite.

So in other words, including this week's game, Floyd has helped add more points to the Cardinals score on a per-target basis over the past month than any other wideout on the team.

The one caveat to all this is that Floyd was forced from Sunday's contest with a hamstring injury on his own. Keep an eye on injury reports, but it's clear that Floyd is far too talented and this Cardinals offense is far too prolific to leave him on your league's waiver wire if the injury isn't serious.

And even if Brown manages to take the number-two receiver role back from Floyd, with the Cardinals boasting the second-most efficient passing offense in the league according to our NEP metrics, there should be plenty of high quality looks to keep Floyd a WR3 option with WR2 upside on a weekly basis.
