Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington Redskins

Would you like a chance to roster a quarterback facing the league's worst pass defense -- per our Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play metric -- at home and featuring the week's second highest projected game total (per Vegas)? Yes, I think we can all agree that we'd like that.

Owned in only 17% of ESPN leagues, Kirk Cousins is set to take on the porous New Orleans Saints pass defense this Sunday. He is far from an elite passer, but according to our metrics, he's actually performed at a very average rate this season.

With a Passing NEP of 34.55, Cousins is 13th in the league among quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs. Having operated without DeSean Jackson up until last week and with Jordan Reed in and out of the lineup, Cousins has had very little to work with thus far. With everyone finally healthy, there should be very little standing in the way of a nice week from Cousins against the Saints this week.

While he does have a scary floor -- he's thrown more interceptions than touchdowns in half of his games this season -- the chance to face a defense that has surrendered 10 touchdown passes over their past two games should help balance out the risk. If you can stomach a bit of volatility in your lineup, Cousins offers great upside this week.
