FanDuel Studs to Target in Week 9

Want advice on which studs to build your lineups around in Week 9? We've got you covered.

With Week 9 staring us in the face, before we all go and cry because we spent an eternity of an offseason waiting for football and now the season is already at its halfway point, let's take a look at the results of our Week 8 FanDuel recommendations to see if we can glean any lessons learned as we move into the latter half of the NFL season.

The "hits" included Philip Rivers, Todd Gurley, Alshon Jeffery, and Greg Olsen. Rivers and Gurley have basically been cash game staples up until this point, and Jeffery's price point and matchup were too good to ignore. Olsen was recommended as a cash game play, and he definitely made value, but it took until the second-half of a rainy game to get him going. In hindsight, while Olsen is a solid contributor, his volatility this season probably makes him a better tournament option.

The "misses" included Justin Forsett and Tyler Eifert. Rostering Forsett against the very weak Chargers defense for $6,900 was just good process, but it happened to not work out. The Eifert miss, however, probably relegates him to being a tournament option more so than a cash game option from here on out, as predicting whether he or A.J. Green, or both will have a big game is maddening.

Cam Newton and Antonio Brown did fine for you if they were in your lineup, but they really delivered closer to their floors than their ceilings, yet still remain good options provided the matchup is at least semi-favorable for Newton, or as long as Michael Vick isn't Brown's quarterback.

So, let's move on to Week 9 and some of the recommendations for solid plays in your cash game and tournament lineups.
