Plugging the Gaps: IDP Waiver Wire for Week 4
Pernell McPhee has the opportunity of his career; he now keys the pass-rush for the Chicago Bears. Is he worth an IDP pickup?

Opportunity is a fickle beast.

When a door you want to enter opens, you have to step through and seize that moment. You never know when that opportunity will rise again -- if ever -- so taking advantage of an opportunity presented is vital.

In the NFL, the reason we talk about opportunity statistics -- drop backs, rushes, targets, etc. -- is because the more of these a player has, the more chances he has to produce for his team. On the defensive side of the ball, one of the most important opportunities a player can seize is a snap. Simply getting one’s self onto the field allows a world of potential to open up, and a defensive player can show his team his value.

We are seeing some very unheralded Individual Defensive Players (IDP) do impressive things thus far in the 2015 season, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Who would’ve guessed that Uani Unga of the New York Giants, Jaye Howard of the Kansas City Chiefs, and Josh Norman of the Carolina Panthers would be top-five fantasy options at their positions?

Fantasy football is all about seizing opportunities, so pull yourself up by the bootstraps and get ready to live the IDP dream! Who will be an IDP contributor in Week 4?
