While people spent their summers forgetting that a once-first round pick a mere two years ago named Tyler Eifert even existed, we were extolling his virtues and his potential for a breakout year. With speed and size measurables akin to the elite tight ends in the game, Eifert had promise that was too good to ignore in the late rounds of your draft.

But let yesterday's performance lay any doubt to rest. Tyler Eifert is the truth. Busting out with an outlandish nine catches on 12 targets for 104 yards and 2 scores, he was Andy Dalton's go to guy, receiving four more targets than the teams star wideout A.J. Green. In fact, his efforts alone added 16.41 points above expectation in terms of numberFire's signature performance metric, Net Expected Points (NEP).

Now, don't expect Eifert to outproduce Green on a weekly basis. That would be madness. But do expect him to be a key cog in the Bengals' passing game moving forward, receiving a ton of short and intermediate targets, with touchdown potential in just about every game. Grab him while you can in whatever leagues you're in if he's available because he won't be there next week.
