Quarterback

Chalk

The mid-tier group of quarterbacks provides some very interesting options to choose from, and it is likely to see pretty high ownership as a whole.

Let's start things off with Jameis Winston ($7,700), who takes aim at the New Orleans Saints defense. The Saints rank 18th against the pass, per our rankings, but they've allowed the third-most FanDuel points to opposing quarterbacks this season (22.2 points per game).

Sticking in that same tier for $200 less, Lamar Jackson has posted 16-plus FanDuel points in the last three weeks. He also faces a Chiefs defense that ranks 25th overall, and they've allowed the 5th-most points to opposing quarterbacks (21.9).

Lastly, Deshaun Watson ($7,800) could provide some solid value at a depressed price point. The Houston Texans' passing attack is efficient, ranking 10th, and -- as favorites in this game -- are sporting a juicy 27.25 implied team total per our heat map. This game should see plenty of plays run from scrimmage, too -- in terms of situation-neutral pace, the Colts rank second, while the Texans rank eighth.

Pivot

Tom Brady, New England Patriots: $7,600 (at Miami Dolphins)

2018 will not go down as one of Tom Brady's historically great seasons. So far in 2018, Brady is averaging only 18.2 FanDuel points per game (PPG), and he hasn't topped 20 FanDuel points since Week 7. He's also thrown multiple touchdowns in only two games dating back to a Week 5 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Things could get a bit easier this week against the Miami Dolphins, who rank 29th in total defense and 28th against the pass. Currently 7.5-point favorites, the New England Patriots actually rank second in situation-neutral pace (26.65 seconds per play). This defense also gets a lot easier to contend after the ruling out of star corner Xavien Howard.

With the Pats sporting a solid 27.25 implied team total, we've got Brady for 23.2 FanDuel points on the day. His tournament upside is real -- projected at 40.1 FanDuel points, or 5.38 points per $1,000. For a spicy pivot off the expensive, elite tier of quarterbacks, consider spending a little less for Brady.
