Case Keenum, QB, Denver Broncos

DraftKings Price: $5,200

Projected Points: 19.03

Projected Value (points per $1,000): 3.66

It’s no secret that the Cincinnati Bengals have been horrible against opposing quarterbacks this season. They have averaged 23.9 DraftKings points to the position, which are worst in the league. The only starting quarterback to manage fewer DraftKings points than Lamar Jackson (19.1) was Ryan Tannehill with 10.1. Needless to say the floor is incredibly high this week for Case Keenum.

A majority of quarterback production has come through the air against this Bengals defense. They have allowed an average passing line of 278.0 yards, 1.9 touchdowns and 1.0 interception. The manner in which opposing quarterbacks have attacked them is via chunk plays. Opponents average 7.9 yards per attempt with an 7.8 average depth of target (aDOT).

A concern with Keenum here is how the Bengals' quarterback change will impact the scoring environment. While the Denver Broncos are slight favorites -- 4.5 points on FanDuel Sportsbook -- the total is very low relative to other games on the slate. The Bengals play at a fast pace as well -- fourth in seconds per play by Football Outsiders' pace metrics. This poses the question whether the team will try to slow things down to get Jeff Driskel acclimated to the offense, which in turn, would mean fewer plays for the Broncos' offense.

The high floor is paired with a high ceiling as well though. The Bengals lead the league in games of 25 points or more allowed, tied with the Kansas City Chiefs. This is a spot for Keenum to have a ceiling game and the combination of cheap price gives appeal for flexibility in roster construction.
