Receiving Market Shares

1. Emmanuel Sanders Is Set For a Big Stretch Run

The departure of Demaryius Thomas at the NFL’s trade deadline was hyped as the big break for Courtland Sutton. Emmanuel Sanders' elevation to sole number-one status was lost in the shuffle.

Sanders logged a 35.9 percent target share in Week 9, while Sutton saw a 27.6 percent target share. Sanders hauled in 6 of 9 targets for a meager 47 yards, but he is seeing 25.0% of the Denver Broncos' air yards for the year, per airyards.com, and that number could be on the rise sans Demaryius.

Sanders has a 26.25 percent target share this year, according to Next Gen Stats, which is solid but unspectacular. His 3.3 yards of average separation is fantastic, however. It puts him ahead of Adam Thielen (3.0 average separation) and Odell Beckham (3.1).

With only three touchdowns this season, Sanders continues to fly under the radar. With Denver heading into a Week 10 bye, Sanders should be on the list of players to target in trades.

2. Travis Kelce Is the Top Tight End

Travis Kelce plays in one of the top offenses in the NFL, and this past Sunday, he saw a 37.51 percent target share, which was tops on the team (31.3 percent for Tyreek Hill and 24.9 percent for Sammy Watkins). He turned that volume into 7 receptions for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Through Week 9, Kelce has seen an overall 25.1 percent target share, while Hill has logged a 22.4 percent share. Hill, as you'd expect, is seeing more air yards (992 to 768), but Kelce's 768 air yards are 139 more than any other tight end.

With Rob Gronkowski banged up and struggling in 2018, Kelce has emerged as fantasy's top tight end, scoring nearly 20 more PPR points than anyone else at the position (granted second-place Zach Ertz has had his bye and Kelce hasn't). Along with Ertz, Kelce ranks in the top two among tight ends in market share, air yards market share and receptions.

Tight end is so depleted this season, but Kelce is one of the few every-week monsters at the position.
