Matthew Stafford, QB, Detroit Lions

DraftKings Price: $5,600

Projected Points: 18.26

Projected Value (points per $1,000): 3.26

There is little to love below the $6,000 range this week as this slate of quarterbacks appear to be more palatable above that range. With that said, if we can't find cheap matchups that can tip the scale in our favor, then we should stick with quarterbacks who have shown consistency.

Matthew Stafford meets the second criteria mentioned. After his opening-week meltdown, Stafford has recorded at least 18 DraftKings points in each of his games played. During that span, he's thrown for two passing touchdowns or more in each game.

The Detroit Lions-Seattle Seahawks game opened up with a 49-point total, with a slight half-point tick to the over after being posted to sports books. Stafford has an implied team total of 26, currently highest for any sub-$6,000 quarterback.

In Stafford's last two games, he had the game script go against him, for fantasy purposes. In Week 6, the Green Bay Packers had a number of blown plays that put the Lions in short-field situations and allowed them to go run heavy as they ran it 27 times. Last week, the Lions also had the opportunity to be run-heavy, rushing for 30 times against the Miami Dolphins.

Despite the game script going against Stafford as he passed it 26 and 22 times in those outings, he was still posting solid efficiency metrics. In those games, Stafford had a 67% completion percentage, 4:0 touchdown-to-interception ratio, and 7.5 average depth of target.

If this game is closer than what Vegas is currently predicting, then the Lions may have to rely less on their running backs and more on Stafford -- with access to a ceiling higher than what his current salary-based projection suggests.
