7 NFL FanDuel Value Plays for Week 8
With Marshawn Lynch out, Jalen Richard offers a great floor in fantasy football.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Detroit Lions

Price: $7,300

There have been some slam-dunk cheap quarterback plays this season, but we get no such luxury this week. You have to make a compromise somewhere at the position -- either in matchup, price or quality of the passer you're going with.

Matthew Stafford doesn't force us to compromise too much in more than one area, though.

He's not a total punt play at $7,300, but he's still tied as only the 12th-most expensive quarterback among the 20 starters on this week's main slate. He hasn't been an elite fantasy scorer this year, but he has at least 15 FanDuel points in 5 of his 6 games, with at least 17 in 4 of them.

The real concern is his matchup, taking on a Seattle Seahawks defense that ranks fifth against the pass, per our schedule-adjusted metrics, while being very stingy against quarterbacks from a fantasy standpoint. But they haven't faced the toughest competition, with four of the six passers they have gone up against failing to crack even the top-20 in fantasy points per game this season.

It's a tough week to pay down at quarterback, but Stafford gives you a reasonable floor and some decent upside if you're looking for a cheaper option.
