Quarterback

Chalk

Sometimes there are weeks in which ownership percentages are fairly evenly distributed. Other weeks, it feels as if one game is destined to garner all of the attention. For quarterbacks in Week 6, it will almost clearly be the latter.

The Atlanta Falcons host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a dream fantasy matchup for the position. The teams are both in the bottom four against opposing signal callers, giving up an average of 25.34 and 28.88 FanDuel points per game, respectively.

The Bucs have allowed at least 334 passing yards in each of their four games and have allowed at least three passing touchdowns in three of those games, including six to Mitchell Trubisky and the Chicago Bears in Week 4. Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan will be a popular play on what could seem like a practice field at times.

Atlanta is doing their best to keep pace for defensive mediocrity. They've allowed at least 250 yards and 3 scores in each of their past 4 games, which doesn't bode well against Jameis Winston, a player who has thrown for 10 touchdowns in his past 3 games against his rivals, while scoring at least two all five times he's faced them.

Other popular plays could include Deshaun Watson against the Buffalo Bills and Andy Dalton against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pivot

Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams: $8,200 (at Denver Broncos)

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff might be averaging the fifth-most FanDuel points per game, but he's not likely to be that high on people's lists of quarterbacks to consider for this week's daily fantasy tournaments. With the shootouts mentioned above and some cheaper signal callers with decent matchups on the slate, the potential absence of Cooper Kupp and Brandin Cooks (though both are expected to suit up), and a perceived tough away matchup against the Denver Broncos, you can see why his ownership percentages might suffer.

Is Denver really that tough of a matchup, though? They are giving up 19.1 FanDuel points per game to opposing quarterbacks, never giving up fewer than 15. That ranks them as the 15th-best fantasy defense against the position, hardly a reason to shy away from an opposing signal caller despite Denver's name recognition.

Goff leads the league in passing yards and is second in completion percentage, yards per attempt, and passer rating. He has arguably best running back in the league (there is no argument about Gurley's fantasy value) and one of the most gifted offensive coaches in the league.

Against a team that has given up at least 277 yards or 3 passing touchdowns in all of their games, Goff should easily be considered a top play. The only thing that could really hold him back here is if Gurley has a transcendent game, which, given what the New York Jets did to the Broncos last week, is not beyond the realm of possibility.

The 51.5-point total is tied for the second-highest on the slate, so the points should be a-flowin'. We have Goff projected for 21.0 FanDuel points this week, with an upside of 39.4. We all know he has the goods to get there, so throw him into a tournament lineup or two.
