Speaking of old storylines that keep coming back, the Eagles seem to be in the midst of a Super Bowl hangover.

Philadelphia’s defense has still played like a top-10 unit, but the offense has dragged way behind. The Eagles' offense ranks 28th in NEP and is tied for 25th in yards per play (5.2), though there are some indications things have gotten better since Carson Wentz returned to the lineup.

The NEP totals are still mediocre, but they have bogged down by Philadelphia’s five turnovers during this span. Turnovers tend not to be predictive, especially in small samples. The improved yards per play average and a Success Rate that is roughly 3% higher than league average suggests the process is getting better here.

Speaking of getting better, have a look at those Cleveland Browns!

Cleveland now rates as more than two points better than average, mostly on the strength of a defense that is tied for seventh in yards per play allowed while ranking first by our schedule-adjusted metrics. The Browns are still struggling to move the ball consistently on offense, but the same can be said for their opponents.

The Browns came into Week 5 with a Success Rate that ranked 10th in the NFL, and in their win against the Ravens, they held Baltimore to a mark that was 3.7% below their previous season average.
