Quarterback

Chalk

There are three guys who instantly jump out as chalky plays this week in Blake Bortles, Ben Roethlisberger, and Matt Ryan. Playing against the atrocious Kansas City Chiefs defense, Bortles is one of our favorite value plays on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

The Chiefs were able to hold Case Keenum in check last week, but at the expense of solid days for Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay. The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without Leonard Fournette again this week, and -- no offense to T.J. Yeldon -- that means they'll likely need to take to the air to keep up with the Chiefs' scorching offense. We have Bortles projected for 20.5 FanDuel points.

Ben and Matt play each other this week in a game with a 58.0 total, five points more than the next highest game on the slate. Fantasy players are obviously drooling at this matchup, especially as it features so many big names. We have them projected for 23.7 and 22.3 FanDuel points, respectively.

Pivot

Philip Rivers, Los Angeles Chargers: $8,200 (vs Oakland Raiders)

Often overlooked for flashier names, Philip Rivers is almost always worth considering, especially when he's playing the Oakland Raiders.

Oakland is holding their own against opposing quarterbacks for the most part this year. Their 18.42 FanDuel points against to the position is just the 16th highest. They've allowed multiple touchdown passes to three out of the four quarterbacks they've faced, however, which isn't good for them when they have to face a quarterback whose 353 touchdowns rank sixth all time.

Rivers has scored at least 25.8 FanDuel points in four of his past eight contests against the Raiders, including a 28 spot when they last faced each other at the end of 2017.

With a healthy set of receiving options at his disposal, Rivers is currently the ninth-highest scoring FanDuel quarterback by points per game. His 68.0% completion rate and 7.86 yards per attempt are his best numbers since 2013. He's on pace for 44 touchdowns against only 8 interceptions, both of which would be career bests.

We have Rivers pegged for 22.2 FanDuel points this week with upside for 39.2. This type of upside coupled with a lot of eyes on other quarterbacks makes him a very worth pivot in tournaments.
