Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs

Week 2 Salary: $7,500

Week 3 Salary: $8,900

This is the second week in a row that Patrick Mahomes has led off this article. After jumping $800 from Week 1 to Week 2, Mahomes' salary jump nearly doubled that this week. His $8,900 Week 3 salary is $1,400 more than last week and is the highest on the entire slate.

It's easy to see why. Mahomes is coming off a 326-yard, 6-touchdown performance that rewarded those who rostered him with 38.84 points. He won the Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row, just like his NFC counterpart Ryan Fitzpatrick. It's the first time that a player in each conference has done that in the same two weeks of a season. They are the first two players since Tom Brady in 2011 to win the award in the first two weeks of the season.

Mahomes has a strong opportunity to continue his success this week as he faces the San Francisco 49ers in the first home start of his career. The Niners have given up the eighth-most FanDuel points to opposing quarterbacks this season. They rank 26th against the pass in our rankings.

Mahomes leads the league in touchdown passes with 10 and is one of only five quarterbacks who haven't thrown an interception yet this season. He leads the league with four passes of 40 yards or longer.

We project Mahomes to finish with 20.9 FanDuel points this week with upside for 32.8. Given his incredible start to the season, I wouldn't bet against him meeting or exceeding the latter.
