Fantasy Football: 5 Players You Can Drop After Week 1
A game-day inactive after a rough preseason, rookie Ronald Jones isn't worth a bench spot right now. Which other players can you drop heading into Week 2?

Cameron Meredith, WR, New Orleans Saints

Second verse, same as the first. New Orleans Saints wide receiver Cameron Meredith's story is similar to the aforementioned Jones, in that he also was in street clothes for Week 1 after ceding his spot to an undrafted free agent.

The sole difference is that Meredith lost his entire 2017 season to an ACL tear, which has also potentially limited his exposure to reps in training camp and the preseason. Without that time in his new team’s system to get in rhythm, Meredith simply doesn’t have what coach Sean Payton is looking for right now.

As of now, Meredith is clearly at best the fourth receiver on the team, with Austin Carr leaping him to play two-thirds of the Saints’ offensive snaps in Week 1 as the starting slot receiver. Though Carr only saw two targets in that one, he dominated snaps and has as much claim to the job as Meredith does.

Meredith could come on as the year goes along, but the Saints aren’t trusting him to execute in their offense as of now. There are enough red flags to cut bait on him.
