7 Deep Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 1

Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati Bengals

Yahoo! Ownership: 30%

Andy Dalton is coming off a down-year in 2017, having completed fewer than 60% of his passes while gaining just 6.7 yards per attempt. Both represent the lowest marks for the Red Rifle since his rookie season in 2011. His awful performance left a bad taste in fantasy owners' mouths, leaving the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback available in 70% of fantasy leagues to start 2018.

With a disappointing 2017 in the rear-view, Dalton has looked rejuvenated this summer. Behind a rebuilt Bengals' offensive line, a wealth of potent receiving weapons, and some consistency at offensive coordinator, the eight-year veteran quarterback has been sharp this preseason, completing 71% of his 31 attempts for 324 yards and 4 touchdowns. Helping Dalton keep the positive momentum going -- and rebuilding his fantasy value -- will be a favorable matchup in Week 1 against an underwhelming Indianapolis Colts' secondary.

After allowing the fifth-most passing yards in 2017, the Colts secondary finds itself in worse shape this season after losing starting cornerback Rashaan Melvin to free agency. Indianapolis sits at the bottom of our preseason defense rankings, overall and against the pass.
