Rex Burkhead, RB, New England Patriots

ADP: 84th overall, RB32

Dion Lewis signed with the Tennessee Titans in free agency, leaving the New England Patriots with 180 carries (40.1%) unaccounted for. Burkhead won't take on all of them, especially with talented rookie Sony Michel in the mix, but Lewis' absence should allow the former to be heavily involved in all aspects of the offense.

Burkhead struggled with injuries and was active for only 10 games last season. Though he played merely 25.71% of the New England Patriots' offensive snaps, he shined once Mike Gillislee became a weekly healthy scratch. Between Week 8 and Week 15, Burkhead averaged a 34.35% snap rate and led the Patriots with seven carries inside the five-yard line. He was the 11th-highest scoring running back in PPR leagues in that span.

Gillislee remains on New England's roster and could step right back into the same role that helped him record the league's fourth-most red zone carries (11) through the first eight games of 2017. Burkhead, however, is still undervalued at his current ADP given his receiving prowess -- his 2.37 yards per route run were second only to Alvin Kamara (2.84) among backs with double-digit targets last season (via Pro Football Focus) -- and general workload in one of the league's premier offenses.
