Fantasy Football: 4 Historical Vegas Trends You Should Know for the Divisional Round
What do the odds say about the divisional round for certain players -- such as Matt Ryan's performance in a game with a low over/under -- and how can your fantasy teams benefit?

Avoid Matt Ryan in a Game With a Low Over/Under

The Atlanta Falcons surprised some folks last weekend as they beat the Rams despite being underdogs. They changed public perception rather quickly and are now three-point road favorites against the Philadelphia Eagles. This drastic change is worth looking into a bit more.

The Falcons are 7-1 as road favorites over the past two seasons, so it wouldn't be surprising to see them get the win. However, the low total of 41 points caught my attention. If you are thinking about starting Matt Ryan, you may want to think twice.

Ryan has performed less than best when the game total has been 42 points or fewer in his career, per the Rotoviz Game Splits App.

Ryan has averaged 16.52 half-PPR (point per reception) points per game. That's not bad, but far worse than his average of 21.24 points in all other games. This score falters a bit more when he plays on the road.

The total in this game opened at 43.5 points before falling to 41 points. This line movement points towards a lower score than most would expect.

Ryan may seem like a value on FanDuel this weekend, but he is probably not worth starting outside of being a tournament dart throw.
