Doug Martin, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Yahoo Ownership: 57%

Doug Martin's career has been pretty similar to a dramatic yo-yo simulation, and his 2017 season has fit the bill perfectly. Starting the season on suspension for PED use, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were excited for his re-entry into the fold after a promising offseason.

And Martin did start out decently well in his first two games back in action, finding the end zone in Weeks 4 and 5. But since Week 6, Martin's been atrocious. For the year, his -0.15 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per carry ranks 29th out of the 33 running backs with at least 120 carries on the season. His 30.23% Rushing Success Rate --the percentage of rushing attempts that positively impact NEP-- ranks 32nd among that same group

In other words, Martin hasn't created any splash plays, nor is he moving the chains consistently. And the Bucs' coaching staff finally noticed, rendering Martin a surprise inactive against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15.

Whether or not Martin finds himself in the good graces of the Bucs' coaching staff this week, he's a completely untrustable, unstartable option, even if he is active for Week 17. Drop him like it's hot, and pick up Giovani Bernard instead.
