If ever there was a game for Marcus Mariota to break out, it would be this week against the San Francisco 49ers, who rank 28th against the pass by numberFire's schedule-adjusted metrics.

And yet, Mariota has failed to exceed 190 passing yards in three straight games despite some seemingly cupcake matchups against the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans. Outside of a rushing score against the Texans, his signature running ability has evaporated, as well, as he has attempted just 8 rushes for 38 yards over that span.

Even if we look at his season as a whole, Mariota has shown painfully little upside, failing to hit 20 FanDuel points in 12 games. He's thrown for multiple scores just twice -- the most recent being in Week 9 -- and the last time he reached 300 yards, he also threw 4 interceptions. At this point, you're really just hoping for a rushing touchdown to bail Mariota out every week, and that's looking like a dicey proposition with his recent rushing decline.
