Tom Brady Melts Steel

When the NFL released its schedule back in April, this game -- the New England Patriots against the Pittsburgh Steelers -- was one that immediately stood out.

Three weeks ago, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was already looking ahead to hosting the Patriots. In addition to proclaiming there was "going to be fireworks," he suggested they'll meet again in the playoffs.

Tomlin's Steelers are riding high on an eight-game win streak and are currently the number one seed in the AFC. As for New England, they just ended an eight-game win streak by losing on the road in ugly fashion to the Miami Dolphins.

Without Rob Gronkowski due to suspension, Tom Brady was only 24 of 43 passing for 233 yards and was intercepted twice. As a team, New England failed to convert on third down (0 for 11) for the first time since 1991. Enter more Brady in decline hot takes, which only brings to mind the others that have not aged well.

Forging Victories

Including the postseason, Brady is 10-2 against the Steelers. Since 2007, Brady has torched Pittsburgh, averaging more than 320 passing yards per game with 22 touchdowns and 0 -- yes, that means zero -- interceptions. And Gronk has played a major part in the domination by scoring eight touchdowns in five of those games.

According to Sharp Football Stats, New England is currently fourth in passing success rate and third in explosive passing (pass plays of 20 yards or more). On the season, the Steelers' pass defense still ranks mid-pack in explosive passing plays against them. However, since Week 8, they have dropped into the bottom five.

Those competing in daily fantasy contests will be busy jamming in Le'Veon Bell ($9,400) and Antonio Brown ($9,300) on FanDuel. Meanwhile, Brady ($8,800) -- who has thrown only one passing touchdown in his last two games -- is a very strong play as the most expensive quarterback on the main slate.
