Mike Davis Is Being Treated as a Lead Back

As noted by Adam Levitan, Mike Davis played 45 of 62 (72.58%) offensive snaps for the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. Davis also out-touched J.D. McKissic (nine snaps) 20 to 2.

Davis' snaps and touches were not only significant from a macro perspective -- it was also the highest percentage of snaps any Seahawks back had played all year (Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls included).

Sunday admittedly marks a terrible matchup for Davis as the Jacksonville Jaguars currently boast a defense that in a matter of weeks has climbed from 32nd to 15th overall against the run, according to our metrics. Take a step back, however, and you'll notice the Jaguars have quietly permitted the highest percentage of fantasy points (34%) to opposing running backs.

We know volume is a key component when rostering running backs, so it's worth trusting that Davis' opportunity will trump the unit attempting to defend him.
