Quarterback

Chalk

A handful of quarterbacks will prove popular this week. Despite his $9,300 price tag, Tom Brady should see decent ownership given his matchup against the Buffalo Bills, a team he's torched repeatedly throughout his career, including a 315-yard, 4-touchdown line in Week 8 last season.

There will likely be a good number of folks looking to Philip Rivers as the Los Angeles Chargers are at home facing the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have allowed multiple scores to opposing passers in 9 of their 11 games. Rivers' ownership also likely gets a boost from the massive game he had on Thanksgiving Day. With him and Keenan Allen in lock-step, it is no wonder he's by far the top tagged quarterback on Fan Share Sports.

Those wanting a value play could move to Brett Hundley, who made a name for himself last Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. At only $6,400, he provides a lot of cap space if you want to fit in a guy like Rob Gronkowski.

Pivot

Marcus Mariota, $7,400 (vs. Houston Texans)

There is no doubt that Marcus Mariota has been somewhat of a disappointment in the fantasy world. The former Oregon Duck standout has not topped 20 FanDuel points in a game and currently ranks 20th in points per game after a QB1 performance in 2016. Fortunately for him and those who want to use him in DFS this week, the panacea known as the Houston Texans are coming to town.

The Texans have been generous to opposing signal-callers since J.J. Watt went down against the Kansas City Chiefs. Including that game, they have given up at least 300 yards or 3 touchdowns (sometimes both!) in five of their past seven games. The only two quarterbacks not to reach those lofty heights were Kevin Hogan and Mr. Elite himself, Joe Flacco. Mariota is not only better than both, but he has a better supporting cast.

The Tennessee Titans will want to take advantage of this juicy matchup as they don't want to lose a step in the playoff race against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mariota should be a big reason why if they march their way to an 8-4 record, and he has a very solid chance of topping 20 points for the first time this season.
