The devastating news that Deshaun Watson will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL immediately downgrades the entire Houston Texans offense, but perhaps none more so than Will Fuller.
The Texans now turn to Tom Savage, who face-planted as the starter in Week 1, lasting a mere half before getting the hook, and has never thrown a touchdown in 105 pass attempts. That doesn't bode well for Fuller, who was already due for some major regression with 7 touchdowns on just 13 receptions while averaging 5.5 targets per game.
The Indianapolis Colts defense has been one of the worst in the league, allowing the most points per game (30.8), and ranking dead-last by numberFire's schedule-adjusted metrics. While there's plenty of risk that the Texans offense tanks under Savage's guidance, Lamar Miller and DeAndre Hopkins could still prove useful as potential volume-based contrarian plays in tournaments.
But with Fuller priced up as the WR6 on both websites, he's a thin play in this new scenario, having relied primarily on unsustainable touchdown production rather than volume for his fantasy points.
