Jared Goff, QB, Los Angeles Rams

Jared Goff racked up 18.7 fantasy points against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7 before going into the Los Angeles Rams' Week 8 bye.

That gives him at least 16 fantasy points in four of his seven games this season. That doesn't look especially strong on the surface, but when you factor in that two of his games have been against the Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars -- pass defenses that both rank top-five in numberFire's Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play metric -- his inconsistency is a lot less concerning. Outside of those nightmare matchups, he has averaged 17.5 fantasy points per game brings that into a good matchup this week.

The New York Giants rank only 20th against the pass by numberFire's metrics and there are only four NFL teams allowing more than their 19.1 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. That has included 20-plus fantasy points for three of the last four passers they have faced (the lone exception being now-backup Trevor Siemian, who still managed 17.9).
