Start Carson Wentz as a Heavy Favorite

The second-best quarterback in fantasy scoring through the first seven weeks of the season is Carson Wentz. Of course, Alex Smith is in first just like we all expected months ago.

It seems that even with his success, the pricing on Wentz is still lagging behind on FanDuel. He is priced at $7,900, which is sixth among quarterbacks and $1,500 cheaper than the top option in Tom Brady.

Wentz has a cake matchup versus the San Francisco 49ers but Vegas trends also point towards a good game.

Since entering the league in 2016, Wentz has scored better in games as a favorite.

He has averaged about 4.3 points more per game as a favorite than he has as an underdog. The Philadelphia Eagles are 13-point favorites over San Fran and are the largest favorites on the board. They also have the highest implied total at 29.5 points.

How has Wentz fared as a large favorite? We don't really know because the most he has ever been favored by was 6.5 points. We have a small sample size of how he has performed in games when Philadelphia was favored by more than a field goal.

He has been a monster in those six games. If he were to hit those numbers on Sunday, he would be worth more than three times his salary, making him a great play in both tournaments and cash games.
