Quarterback: Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders

Derek Carr, QB, Oakland Raiders

29 for 52, 417 Yards, 3 Touchdowns

1 Rushes, 15 Yards

Performance Score: 100

Returning to the field after missing just one game following his significant back injury, Derek Carr was as close to perfect as you can get against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. His Performance Score of 100 helped his Raiders to an upset win of the division-leading Chiefs, momentarily silencing the critics declaring a red alert against this Oakland offense.

And in their defense, Carr and this offense had been averaging just 13 points over the past four games, with the young quarterback failing to exceed 175 yards in his previous three starts.

He was fantastic on Thursday, though, completing 29 passes for 417 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Raiders put up 31 points. Carr posted a Passing NEP of 21.80 and looked healthy following the back injury that knocked him out in Week 4. Better yet, he finally demonstrated chemistry with receiver Amari Cooper, who entered the game as perhaps the most disappointing player of the year (more on him later).

It was a promising performance from Carr and perhaps he is set for a strong second half of the season.
