Quarterback

Chalk

With a 29.50-point implied team total that is tops on the slate, it's no surprise that many daily fantasy players will be paying $9,200 to roster Tom Brady against the Atlanta Falcons. His opponent in Matt Ryan ($8,700) should also be a popular play despite his early-season struggles -- the New England Patriots have given up 25.03 FanDuel points per game to opposing quarterbacks, which is the worst in the league by nearly four points.

We can likely expect to see decent ownership numbers for Dak Prescott and Marcus Mariota who get matchups against the exploitable secondaries of the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns, respectively.

Pivots

Carson Palmer, $7,000 (at Los Angeles Rams)

The Arizona Cardinals' Carson Palmer has quietly put together a decent fantasy season so far. He is averaging 309.3 yards per game and has put up at least 15.64 points in each of the past five weeks. He is currently the QB11 in points per game, but is just the 17th-highest quarterback this week according to his salary.

Going into Week 6, Palmer had thrown the ball an average of 45.4 times per game. The addition of Adrian Peterson has helped balance the Cardinals' attack, which was showcased in Palmer's season-high 21.92 points on only 22 tosses against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week.

Peterson should run free against the Los Angeles Rams' league-worst run defense, which should help to open up room in the passing game. The Rams are favored, though, which means the game script should favor Palmer having to throw more than last week.

Tyrod Taylor, $7,000 (vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

One of Tyrod Taylor's biggest problems is that he simply has nobody to catch the ball. Charles Clay is hurt. Jordan Matthews is hurt. Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods are both across the country. Yet he has still put up a respectable (if underwhelming) 14.1 points per game against a difficult early-season schedule.

Despite the lack of receiving options, his Week 7 matchup makes him an intriguing tournament option.

The Buccaneers have given up the fourth-most points per game to quarterbacks while allowing at least 16 points and 283 passing yards to the position in each of their five games. It would, frankly, be shocking if Taylor produced that type of yardage through the air with his receiving corps, but his running ability should help build a solid floor.

A quarterback with a mediocre rookie wide receiver in Zay Jones as his top receiving threat certainly isn't without risk, but the matchup and likely low ownership make him an interesting pivot.
