Adrian Peterson, RB, Arizona Cardinals

FanDuel Price: $5,000

DraftKings Price: $3,400

Adrian Peterson is pretty happy to be out of New Orleans, where he was averaging just 7.3 touches per game. He will undoubtedly have a bigger role as the new starting running back for the Arizona Cardinals, replacing Chris Johnson, who was averaging 12.5 touches a game, despite rushing for a paltry 2.5 yards per carry. Peterson won't have to do much to exceed that threshold, and there are positive signs that he's got something left to offer.

However, while Peterson will see an increase in opportunity, everything else about this change of scenery might not be as rosy as he hopes. The Cardinals' offensive line has struggled mightily this year, grading dead-last in the league through five weeks by Pro Football Focus, and ranking 30th in Football Outsiders’ Adjusted Line Yards. Coach Bruce Arians has also already declared that Peterson won't play on third downs, which is no surprise with Andre Ellington performing well in a pass-catching role. And lastly, while the Cardinals will likely run more often if Peterson is effective, they throw the ball over 70% of the time, the highest rate in the league.

Peterson is cheap on both fantasy sites, and should garner goal line touches, but overall, his upside is severely capped by a poor offensive line, little to no pass-catching work, and a team that simply doesn't run that often. Even in tournaments, it's tough to see a big fantasy performance against a strong Tampa Bay Buccaneers rush defense that should be getting some key players back this week.
