Quarterback

Chalk:

Deshaun Watson has 10 touchdowns over his past two games and is likely to be the chalk at the quarterback position in a matchup against the Cleveland Browns. If not using Watson, it will probably be in order to pay up for Matt Ryan or Drew Brees.

Pivots:

Kirk Cousins, $7,800 (vs. San Francisco 49ers): Game script would suggest that Kirk Cousins should be a popular play, but with Watson in the same price range, there's a good chance he goes a bit overlooked.

According to our opponent-adjusted Net Expected Points (NEP) metric, the San Francisco 49ers rank as a bottom-10 pass defense this season. They've allowed Jacoby Brissett, Carson Palmer, and Jared Goff to average 321 passing yards against them over the past three games, so Cousins should have no problem shredding them. With the Washington Redskins carrying the slate's second-highest implied team total (28.75 points), Cousins has the type of elite upside that we want when looking for a tournament pivot.

Kevin Hogan, $6,100 (at Houston Texans): With everyone focusing on the signal caller on the other side of the ball, Kevin Hogan probably won't even be the highest-owned player with the last name Hogan this week. His Cleveland Browns squad has just an 18.5-point implied team total, so it is unlikely many feel the need to roster the former fifth-round pick.

That could be a mistake, as Hogan has shown explosive rushing ability, carrying the ball 11 times for 134 yards and a touchdown in two career games with actual playing time. He also hasn't looked too shabby as a passer, completing 26 of 38 passes for 377 yards and a 3-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Against a J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus-less Houston Texans defense that allowed 26.86 FanDuel points to Alex Smith last week, Hogan could certainly be in play at just $100 over minimum salary.
