NFL
Fantasy Football: 4 Unexpectedly Great Week 3 Performances

Stefon Diggs, WR, Minnesota Vikings

NFL.com Start Percentage: 39.0%

Week 3 Fantasy Points: 29.3

Stefon Diggs was the top-scoring wide receiver (NFL.com scoring) in Week 1. Then in Week 2, with starting quarterback Sam Bradford nursing a knee injury, he managed just 3.1 points.

Ouch.

Along came Week 3, and owners decided another Case Keenum start meant they should sit Diggs.

Ouch again.

Diggs is certainly not a "beneath the radar" guy -- he's owned in over 99 percent of NFL.com leagues -- yet in Week 3, he was started in less than 40 percent of them. Bad call: Diggs was one of just three players in Week 3 to earn a perfect rating from numberFire, reeling in 8 catches for 173 yards and 2 touchdowns. That made him not only the top-scoring wide receiver in Week 3, but the leading scorer for the season to date, despite his Week 2 dud.

If you were one of those unlucky owners who left him on your bench, don't beat yourself up about it -- it happens. But next time, just trust the guy. We identified him before the season as a high-ceiling player to target, which may have come as a surprise unless you took the time to study his 2016 performance game-by-game.

Something else to keep in mind: regardless of his quarterback, Diggs has the best passing-game schedule for 2017. Minnesota is in the top-third of the league in pass attempts so far this year, which should help you feel confident about his future target volume.
