Philip Rivers, QB, Los Angeles Chargers

DraftKings Price: $5,800

Going into Denver and passing for multiple touchdowns is something very few quarterbacks have done in recent years, but Philip Rivers is no ordinary quarterback. He was the only one to do it last year, and one of only three to do it the year before that. He took that momentum into Monday night's game, passing for three scores and leading a comeback effort that fell agonizingly short.

This week, Rivers gets a much easier task. Instead of facing the top defense against passers for the past two seasons, Rivers heads back West, where the Los Angeles Chargers will be playing their first home game against a Miami D/ST that was fourth worst against quarterbacks last season.

At $5,800, Rivers' salary this week and last has been lower than it was at any point in 2016, and oddly low for a quarterback who averaged nearly 19 DraftKings points per game last year. Rivers fell below the 15-point mark only once at home last season, and only two teams -- Kansas City and Denver -- have held him below that mark at home in the last two years.

This is, admittedly, a week that points towards using high-priced quarterbacks with Aaron Rodgers facing Matt Ryan and Tom Brady facing Drew Brees in a pair of games that boast an over/under above 50. Use those guys in cash games this week, but Rivers works best as a contrarian play in tournaments if you want to load up on high-end running backs and wide receivers.
