Fantasy Football: 8 Players With Favorable Schedules

Per our numbers, the Minnesota Vikings will face the easiest schedule of opposing defenses in 2017, making Sam Bradford and Kyle Rudolph awfully attractive. Which other players have favorable schedules?

When preparing for a fantasy football draft, it can be easy to look at a player's season-long projection and make a plan based off of those rankings. But it's important to remember that fantasy football is a weekly game and schedules matter. Weekly matchups can go a long way toward identifying players who could have a surprising season and contribute a number of week-winning performances.

To find these players with a favorable schedule, we can use numberFire's Net Expected Points (NEP) metric. NEP measures the expected point totals that each play generates for a team and player based upon historical expectation. Through the NEP projected rush and pass defense rankings, we can identify which players have a more favorable schedule than others. For more on NEP, check out our glossary.

Outside of the players we're highlighting in this article, you can view more positive and negative matchups in an article by our own Brandon Gdula in which he ranks the schedules of all 32 teams.
