Sam Bradford, Minnesota Vikings

Why You Should Target Him: Week 1 Matchup Against the New Orleans Saints

Depending on the metric you're analyzing, the year-over-year correlation of defensive performance isn't immensely strong, so simply using last year's numbers to predict this season won't give you all the answers. With that being said, the Saints have been bad on defense over the last -- well, for a while.

They've been very bad.

Over the last three years (excludes the fantasy worthless Week 17), we've seen 45 quarterbacks toss the rock 20 or more times against the Saints in a game. That makes sense, because they've played 45 non-Week 17 games.

The average fantasy points scored among those quarterbacks has been 20.33 standard points. That's essentially what Andrew Luck averaged last season. And only 3 of the 45 quarterbacks scored fewer than 12 fantasy points (6.67%), with the vast majority (68.69%) hitting the 16-point mark.

This is who Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford will face in Week 1 at home. In that game, Vegas has the Vikings as 3.5-point favorites with a strong 48-point over/under. A potential positive game script in a relatively high-scoring environment for a quarterback streaming option is a beautiful thing.

While Bradford may not have a ton of season-long potential in fantasy, he should get off to a decent-enough start.
