10. 2006 Baltimore Ravens

nERD: 11.64

At the pinnacle of the Baltimore Ravens' historical defenses, the team finished the regular season 13-3 with the top-ranked defense in points, yards and takeaways.

Of course, Ray Lewis anchored the unit, but he was surrounded by crazy talent. The Ravens boasted four players with at least 9.5 sacks and three -- including the one and only Ed Reed -- with at least five interceptions. On the other side of the ball, Jamal Lewis led a worse-than-average offense with 1,132 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Fittingly, the Baltimore defense held Peyton Manning's Indianapolis Colts to five field goals, but the offense scored just six points as the Ravens lost 15-6 in the AFC divisional round.
