4. 2016-2017

It just so happens that, at the age of 39, Brady has turned in one of the best performances of his career. Despite serving a four-game suspension, Brady completed 67.4% of his 432 attempts for a total of 3,554 yards and an impressive 28 touchdowns. Oh, and just two interceptions.

Unlike most seasons, Brady didn't have one or two big targets. Only in terms of yardage has one pass-catcher -- Julian Edelman -- excelled over the others, with 1,106 yards. Outside of that, no one had more than 701 yards and seven different receivers caught at least three passes for scores.

Having several adequate targets at his disposal, allowed Brady to pass for 0.35 Pass NEP per drop back, which is 0.2107 relative to 0.1393, the league average. On 447 passes, he racked up 158.39 Pass NEP, which, for reference, is nearly 18 points higher than Dak Prescott in spite of playing in four less games.

The outcome of the season is yet to be determined, but right now, according to the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, the Patriots are the favorite, at 13-10 odds, to win Super Bowl 51.
