8 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 14

Colin Kaepernick, QB, San Francisco 49ers

Just as Colin Kaepernick started to draw some fantasy popularity, he had one of the worst weeks you're ever going to see by a starting quarterback in Week 13. He completed only one pass on five attempts, while being limited to 25 rushing yards on five carries.

This has him flying under the radar once again, and he is on the waiver wire in over half of Yahoo public leagues despite drawing a good matchup against the New York Jets.

Randomness is a big part of sports (especially fantasy sports), and while it's important not to ignore new information, it's also important not to overreact. Is Kaepernick as good a fantasy producer as his four-straight top-10 finishes made it look? Maybe not. But is he as bad an option as Week 13 made it seem? Certainly not.

A lot of his value comes from the fact that you don't need him to have a particularly good passing day. He has averaged 49.1 rushing yards per game, producing the equivalent of more than one passing touchdown's worth of fantasy points with his legs.

When you combine that with facing the Jets, a team that ranks 29th in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play, he has potential, and he's more likely to land you another top-10 week than he is to completely flop.
