5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 12

Every year around the end of November, I start to get that special feeling inside. I'm getting anxious and excited knowing that big day is coming ever so soon. You know what I'm talking about?

No, not any holidays. I'm talking about the NFL playoffs.

And with just five weeks left in the season, they will be here ever so soon. The playoff picture is shaping up, and it is going to be a tight race, with the Seattle Seahawks being the only team leading their division by more than two games.

But it's also a good time to appreciate what we have. With the NFL season being so short, it takes a while into each season before we can get a decent sample size of games played. Now that we are 12 games deep, we can really take a look at some trends have have developed over the course of the season.

Before we move on to Week 13, here are five stats to know -- both traditional and our advanced statistics, namely Net Expected Points (NEP) -- from the first 12 weeks of the 2016 NFL season.
