Alex Smith is only the 26th-most expensive quarterback on FanDuel this week, and he has a great shot of returning solid value at this price point.

Teams have been having their most success against the Carolina Panthers through the air -- unsurprising considering they rank 19th in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play and a stout 4th against the run -- and the Panthers have allowed the league's 4th-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks.

In the six full games he has played, Smith has turned in three top-12 fantasy performances, and with a good matchup this week, he is a safe bet to return decent value, even though his ceiling isn't particularly exciting.
