The Arizona Cardinals are the third-ranked D/ST in our Week 10 projections, but their combination of safety and upside in this matchup make them the top option on FanDuel. They are 13.5-point home favorites against the San Francisco 49ers this week, the highest spread on the Sunday slate by a wide margin -- the New England Patriots are second as 7.5-point favorites against the Seattle Seahawks.

Historically, defenses in this spot have fared well -- D/STs favored by 13 or more points over the last three seasons have reached tournament value (three times their salary in points) 33% of the time. That gives you an absurdly reasonable chance of rostering a defense that will score 15 FanDuel points this week.

With the 13.5-point spread, the 49ers are implied to score a slate-low 17.5 points, which is actually slightly higher than our projection of 16.88 points. The first time these two teams met this season, the Arizona D/ST scored 15.0 FanDuel points. While Blaine Gabbert was the quarterback, the offensive philosophy and lack of playmakers were largely the same as they will be on Sunday.

The Cardinals will be the highest owned defense in Week 10 on FanDuel, but it’s good for reason. They are the top play in all formats despite their hefty price tag.
