Week 7 was a long time coming for New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith, who finally got another chance to start with Ryan Fitzpatrick playing abhorrently. Sadly, Smith only got eight passes into his new era as a starting NFL quarterback before an ACL injury knocked him out for the season.

In the first quarter, though, Smith made a play that could have helped cement his status as starter if he’d stayed healthy. On 2nd-and-18, he dropped back, surveyed his receivers, and found slot wideout Quincy Enunwa wide open in the middle of the field. He reared back and fired the ball in. Enunwa sensed two defenders closing in on him and spun out into a sprint downfield. He simply found a seam in the defense and sped all the way for a 69-yard touchdown to put the Jets on the board.
