Bill Belichick wasted no time getting the Patriots back on track, with the team running their highest number of plays (76) so far this season. Brady showed little to no rust, completing 28 of his 40 drop backs for 406 yards and 3 touchdowns. He picked up another 14 rushing yards on 2 carries.

Starting hot out of the gates, Brady completed his 14 of his first 16 passes and quickly jumped back into his 2015 rhythm that had him finishing with the second-highest Passing NEP of the year. Brady had plenty of big plays in his debut, but the biggest boost to his NEP for the day came on a 3rd-and-6 play connecting with wide receiver Chris Hogan. Brady found Hogan deep down the sideline hitting him in stride for a 63-yard gain to get the Patriots in the red zone. He was able to hook up with both his tight ends regularly with Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett finishing with a combined 11-catch, 176-yard, 3-touchdown stat line. Brady's +28.05 Total NEP is the highest outing we've seen from a quarterback yet this season.

Brady's performance on Sunday netted him the overall QB2 finish (standard scoring), just behind Marcus Mariota. It marked the sixth time in his career that Brady threw for 400-plus yards and at least 3 touchdowns. Only Drew Brees has more among active quarterbacks (10).
